Last weekend we rented a car and took it out of Tokyo with a trip to Yokohama Saturday and Shizuoka Sunday. Both events were fantastic and full of too much joy and detail to properly catalog here.
Personal highlights:
1) There is a service here and when you get too drunk to drive your car you dial them up, 2 men arrive in 1 vehicle, 1 hops out, into yours and sits in full uniform with excellent posture and hands exactly at the 10 and 2 positions as he carts your drunken asses around. It is hilarious.
2) The DJ in Shizuoka playing El Bosso and Die Ping Pongs “Immer Nur Ska.” I skanked! I asked her friend what music she liked and she said Ngobo Ngobo. 
These are my people. LATE 80’s GERMAN SKA OR DIE!
3) Wandering shithouse drunk around Shizuoka Sunday night Takahiro pointed out a sign which said 夜の蝶追放 or literally “Night Butterfly Banishment.” Teen hookers do your dirty business elsewhere!
